Dear Reader,
Hello! Welcome to another review post from me. Read on to find out more about my recent exhibition and also to see the new work I have available.
From the 5th-11th of this month,
and myself, participated in our second exhibition together at Coast Colour Canvas gallery under the title Nature Inspired.Coast Colour Canvas Gallery is an artist-run gallery tucked away on the Lizard peninsula at Roskilly farm and cafe. It’s situated in beautiful surroundings, woodlands, ponds, animals and ice-cream with free parking and lots of walks around the area.
You may remember we hired the gallery for a week last year. This year the gallery moved to a slightly larger space within the farm which meant we could also offer workshops. The new space is really lovely to exhibit in and meant we could fill the gallery with a range of artwork.
Kriksis and I set up on the Friday and filled it with a whole range of artwork from framed originals and prints, calendars and zines, to greeting cards, postcards, stickers, t-shirts and bags.
To give you an idea of pricing we had on display a range of art as follows:
Framed originals ranging from around £120-375
Giclee fine art archival prints ranging from £15-25
Unframed originals £10-135
Calendars, prints, zines £8-16
Cards, postcards, stickers, tape under £10
The majority of sales were made up of prints, cards, postcards, calendars, zines, stickers, with just a few unframed art sales. Over the course of the week we had 154 visitors to the gallery.
For those who are interested in the numbers these are the figures that were taken over the course of the week.
Our total sales were £1305.50.
Deductions: Square commission @ 1.75% £22.85
Less CCC commission @ 10% £130.55
Less Gallery hire of £175 + flyer printing £30
Total net £947.10
We also ran workshops and took payment for these separately to the gallery. These were definitely a good thing to offer as on the quieter days, it meant we still had people coming in to the gallery.
This year I produced a number of new pieces and documented the making of them. If you’re interested in hearing my thoughts and seeing my creative process you may enjoy watching the below video.
These pieces and more are now available to purchase via my website. Please get in touch if you see anything you like and are based overseas. I am happy to arrange shipping for you.
Overall the experience was positive although it certainly was quieter than last year which may have been due to the heavy downpours. However we still were able to enjoy the time chatting with friends, family, followers from near and far and see the benefit in exhibiting in person. Due to running workshops we also collected quite a few emails from those who were interested in attending future workshops and it’s been certainly helpful to hear firsthand what kind of subjects people were interested in learning about.
So just to say a big thank you to everyone who came and visited us!
I hope you enjoyed seeing a glimpse of our gallery exhibition and I look forward to speaking with you again soon.
