I’m delighted to announce that my Wild Woodland Advent Calendar sketching and illustration online course is now ready to join!
This season join me for a fun festive, illustrative project. I'll be showing you how I capture a range of woodland flora and fauna using a mix of mediums to produce a beautifully illustrated advent calendar.

What can you expect?
On this course you’ll have the opportunity to explore the diverse wildlife that inhabits woodlands.
Split into 5 areas we'll look at:
Coniferous and Deciduous Trees
Plants, Fungi and Seeds
Woodland Mammals
Woodland Birds
Insects, Moths, Butterflies and Bees
You'll begin by gathering the materials you'll need to get started, followed by learning about the plan for the calendar layout and theme, and I'll share the colour palettes and illustration style I intend to use.
Taking a closer look at each area you'll create an attractive sketchbook spread for each one.
From these initial sketches we'll then plan where each illustration will go and you'll be well equipped to start illustrating the final window artwork using a seasonal colour palette.
We finish by numbering and assembling the calendar ready to hang and use by the 1st of December.
What will you have at the end of this project?
By the end of this project, you will have a beautifully illustrated advent calendar showcasing various woodland animals, birds, insects and plants. You'll also have a collection of sketchbook spreads filled with a variety of woodland wildlife, trees and plants.
On this course you’ll:
Discover a variety of flora and fauna that lives and grows in woodland
Watch over 3.5 hours of drawing and sketching demos
Work with a seasonal colour palette
Learn ways to capture trees, plants, mammals, birds, insects, butterflies, moths and bees with a mix of mediums
Enjoy the versatility of mixed media and how to create textures and work in layers
Fill your sketchbooks with fresh seasonal creative spreads
Create a final illustrated advent calendar that you or friends and family will enjoy opening in the run up to Christmas Day
Have the opportunity to join me for 2 work together sessions on zoom held in November
Who is this course for?
It is for anyone who has an interest in nature, woodlands, wildlife. It is suitable for beginners, younger artists as well as for those who already draw but would like to progress further and are looking for inspiring ways to do this.
