Hello!
Welcome to my tenth post in the series called PROCESS & PLAY.
In today’s session we’ll be looking at how I sketch Lighthouses and in particular focus on two lighthouses that are well known in my area- Godrevy and Lizard Lighthouse.
Each session I take a closer look at a sketchbook PROCESS, chat through what I’m doing and then invite you to join me to PLAY in your sketchbook.
We’ll firstly take a look at pages from my on location sketchbooks and I share the ways I’ve sketched some lighthouses before.
We’ll then do some quick warm exercises looking at the shapes of the lighthouses and prepare the pages with background panels.
And then finally working from photo refs I’ll sketch 5 different ways to capture each lighthouse using a mix of materials, breaking down the process step-by-step. You’ll have my photo references to use and colour palettes to refer to
Hopefully you’ll find it enjoyable and apply what we learn to your own lighthouse sketches.
