Dear Readers,
Things are getting a little busy around here as I prepare for an upcoming joint exhibition with my Creative Catchup Podcast crew Natasha Newton and Kristiana Dorosconoka aka Kriksis. This will be the first time we will be exhibiting together and the first time I will be exhibiting at a gallery in more than 10 years! I think the last time was in Aberdeen when I used to sell my work through galleries more regularly.
As you can imagine there is a lot to prepare and get done in preparation including putting up flyers and advertising throughout the area.
I know quite a few of you may be wondering what I’ll be exhibiting since most of my work is usually hidden away in sketchbooks. So here’s a list of what I intend to show with some behind the scene pics.
Framed mixed media originals - these are the originals that I created for my 2022/2023 calendars. I’ve taken the opportunity to get these framed professionally and will have them displayed altogether. There will be around 24 of these.
My 2024 Calendar - you’ve probably already spotted this, but if not each month has a selection of scanned sketchbook pages as well as colour palettes and sketching prompts.
My first sketchbook zine entitled Landscapes of the Lizard vol. 1- this is filled with drawings from my sketchbooks based on the landscapes around the Lizard and will be the first time I’ll be selling these.
Lots of cards, mini prints and postcards created from my originals and sketchbook drawings.
Giclee prints- A few of my original pieces have been made into A4 fine art prints.
A4 Prints -some nice affordable poster prints with food and map designs.
My black and white original postcards from my 2020 postcard project. I’ve also put a few of these under glass frames and think they look really classy.
My sketchbooks! I always like to be able to share these as they are where all the inspiration for my products comes from. I will have a selection on show and you’ll be able to flick through them when I’m there.
I hope this gives you more of an insight to what I’ll be sharing and along with my co-hosts Natasha and Kriksis there should be a lovely mix of artwork, prints and cards to browse and buy.
If you’re in the area do come and say hi! Coast, Colour, Canvas Gallery is positioned right next to Roskilly Farm and cafe so would be ideal for a morning or afternoon stroll, visit to the gallery and lunch/dinner at the restaurant. Gallery is open 11am-4pm and Roskilly is open Wed- Mon 9.30-8pm (please check timings before setting out to be sure).
Looks absolutely wonderful. Each of you does beautiful work. If I wasn’t in Oregon I’d come right there. Thanks for sharing this way.
What a wonderful exhibit this will be! It's sad on an American when all his favorite artists are across the ocean! HA! I hope it is a huge success. Love all the pieces!
