Dear Reader
In just under 2 weeks time I’ll be participating in the Cornwall Open Studio event at Lowenek studio with Pippa Alston and Fiona Thomas. This is the second year I’ll be exhibiting my work at Pippa’s studio and I find it to be wonderful opportunity to share my sketchbooks and chat with those who are interested in what I do.
I’ll also be running a workshop or two (depending on demand). The theme for the session will be wildflowers and we’ll focus on colour mixing and capturing wildflowers in watercolour and collage, taking inspiration directly from the garden. It really is a wonderful time of sketching, chatting, meeting new and old friends and artists, drinking tea, sharing stories, and welcoming travellers from far and wide.
If you’re planning to visit you’ll be happy to hear I’ll be sharing my sketchbooks again this year for you to flip through. Looking over my post about preparing for Open Studios last year I had mentioned about creating a zine with my sketches, but hadn’t managed to produce it in time. I’m happy to report that this year I’ll have with me not one but two zines available to buy with my sketches in.
They are titled Landscapes of the Lizard and you can find them here in my shop if you’re interested in taking a look and not going to be able to visit in person. If you’re based in the EU please use my Folksy shop and do get in touch if you have a custom order.

Since launching my wildflower course earlier this year I have accumulated rather a lot of wildflower drawings. In an effort to use the work efficiently I have been gradually turning these into printed products.
I’ll be sharing these at Open Studios this year but if can’t make it in person you will find this wildflower bundle available in my shop.
Alongside these products I’ll also have my framed originals, greeting cards and prints. If you would like to visit, please find the details and days that I will be available below; I’d love to meet you.

Summer Creative Course
Back at Lowenek studio Pippa and I will running our 2 day collaborative Creative course. You’ll be sketching on location with myself, getting inspiration from your surroundings and then the next day creating and sketching in clay to produce a final piece. Lots of fun and a opportunity to work across multiple mediums inspired by the wildflowers and life surrounding Lowenek studio.

Drawing in the Lavender Fields
Running for the third year this workshop is a lovely opportunity to immerse yourself in the lavender fields at Roskorwell Farm, near Porthallow. We will be creating handmade sketchbooks and filling them with sketches drawn on location amongst the fields. Sam as usual will be providing refreshments and baking her delectable lavender and lemon drizzle cake for us all to eat.
