Hello sketchers!

Join us for a casual Swatch, Sketch and Share session happening on Wednesday 20th August 4-5pm BST -an hour of swatching/playing in or out of our sketchbooks.
I’ve added another S to the session- Share. Although I know we do tend to generally share what we’ve been doing at the end, I think it would be good to make this an intentional space to share anything you’ve been working on throughout the month.
Maybe sketches from our other sessions- like the Process and Play projects or Draw-along pages. I’ve loved seeing the Lavender themed zines you’ve been making! Also perhaps your own discoveries and sketching time.
I find when I share what I’ve been working on it can really help cement ideas, or give opportunity for feedback which can encourage us to keep going or change course, particularly if we are feeling stuck or unmotivated.
I know it can feel very vulnerable to share but I feel we have built a community of creatives who are very encouraging and open to trying new ways of working and just want to grow in their art practice and sketchbook time.
It’s exciting to see what you are all doing and brings me a lot of joy and inspiration to see. This also encourages me to keep sharing with you!
Why not use the time to…
Try out some new materials
Organise your art supplies
Swatch colours
Catch up on an art challenge
Experiment with a different way of working
Paint a subject you haven’t before
Finish or start a project you’ve been meaning to
Simply hang out with others and chat
If you’ve been working on negative space sketching why not focus on that or perhaps you have your own project you want to start or finish.
I plan to continue to work on wildflower painting.
You are also welcome to chat as we go or if you prefer to just have this on in the background and silently get on with something then please do.
