Hello readers,

Do you struggle with using greens in your sketchbook? Are you daunted by landscapes that appear to have so many greens you have no idea where to start?

Welcome to my fourth post in the series called PROCESS & PLAY.

Each session I take a closer look at a sketchbook PROCESS, chat through what I’m doing and then invite you to join me to PLAY in your sketchbook.

In today’s session I’ll be sharing with you how I work with greens in the landscape.

We’ll firstly look at a few sketches from previous years sketchbooks.

And then I’ll share with you my materials and swatch all the greens I like to use. I’ll be showing you my favourite brush pens, water soluble crayons, and a range of coloured pencils.

And then finally I will demo 3 green scenes featuring a range of mixed media, simplifying and breaking down the scene step-by-step. You’ll have my photo references to use and colour palette to refer to.

It’s going to be fun!

And I hope you will learn a lot from our time together.
