It has been an especially tough winter and fall for sketching outside this year, so I am really proud of the times that I did manage to get out and sketch. I mostly blame the storms that we have been having the last few months. I assume that you have had as many, since they tend to roll over from the UK to us in the Netherlands. It felt like there was a new storm every two weeks and I started wondering when we would run out of letters of the alphabet to name them. I know that it is a reality that you can die if a tree falls on you, so even though I really wanted to get out, I just couldn’t risk it. And then there is that persistent sore throat that I have also been having the last couple of months, I’m just ignoring that now, where at first I thought staying inside would be the smart thing to do.

So I would like to say that I am really impressed with the amount that you did manage to get out to sketch. And it inspires me to get out even more. Thank you for that!

Yes the storms did seem to keep coming! Sorry to hear about your sore throat- mine really did take quite some time to go and got me feeling a bit down - only this month I am having less pain. Thanks for your encouraging comment and hope you have more opportunity for sketching times outdoors.

Lovely sketches, well done for braving the weather! The one in the trees on your warmest day is still my absolute favourite, but then I adore trees. You can almost feel the warmth in the sketch. Thankyou so much for sharing ❤️❤️

Thanks June! Going outside to sketch really does lift my spirits. I think I may have secret obsession with trees too! Secret because I haven't realised it- if you listen to my latest podcast episode you'll hear me mention it!

Lovely sketches. Did you use the same medium for all of them?

Thankyou. They are mix of mediums, depending on what I'm in the mood to use. Neocolor II, pencils, inktense, luminance, watercolour, gouache.
