Hi Mel, we visited Trewidden garden a few years ago. A few of the marvellous camellias were still in bloom. Gorgeous! There are so many beautiful things to discover there and it is very quiet and relaxing. I remember the whale's tail very well. I'll have to look through my old pictures again. I can't believe you haven't been there yet:)) It's nice that you had time to draw in your sketchbook and to perceive the time in a completely different way while sketching. Thank your for this inspiration. Have a nice day. Gabi:)

That is what was so surprising seeing how quiet it was! It was blissful. I know! But I am glad we found it. Hopefully we will go again soon. :)

Garden Sketching :)

I like sketching mostly what I've seen on trails while walking with my dog but I can't say I've done much garden sketching. Maybe I can add that to my list of things to sketch!

Thankyou Mel this was lovely. I must try putting ink in water brushes as I have a few and love how the brush strokes look

Definitely give it ago- make sure you dilute it slightly so that it doesn't clog the brush head. The textures are wonderful that you can get with it.

Thankyou for the advice about diluting it slightly will definitely do this x

This is stunning Mel! And it looks so quick and easy to be able to do outdoors - I would love to try it in my local woods. What size paper is it that is long enough to make one of those books? You mentioned in the video that there is a post here where you show how to make one so I will have to find it, I joined this month so an still catching up.

Thanks Lynne! It definitely is a quick way for sketching on location. The paper started out as A2 size and you can find the process and play video for that here: https://open.substack.com/pub/melaniechadwick/p/creating-a-one-page-sketchbook?r=8t3xx&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=true
